Research: Bullet pointed list of technical skills learnt in the AS year
During the AS year i learnt how to :
- How to get tighter shots e.g to get less of the background in the shot
- How to get a variety of shots whilst filming (long shots, wide shots, close ups)
- How to edit footage in final cut pro
- I learnt how to add effects and transitions during the post-production process

Planning: Short Lists Of Songs
These songs were our potential song to use for the music video. We chose these 5 songs to pick from because they all have an upbeat feel except from the last one. We ended up picking the Wookie feating Eliza Doolittle "The Hype" because we could relate to it and we thought it would be easy for us to make the music video for it.
Planning: Letter requesting copyright clearance for song choice
We emailed the email company 'Parlophone Records' to request copyright clearance, so we can use the song.

Planning: Final song choice
We have chosen to do Eliza Doolittle-The Hype as our final choice as the genre of the song is house and we have not seen previous student music videos with this genre. We feel that this song would be a challenge to do and we also feel that we will be creative when filming the video as this song does not have an official video. The lyrics of the song is easy to understand which would make us create a clear story line.
Research: Review of favourite student video
Below is my favourite student music video. I liked this video because of the range of shots and camera angles used within the video. There are good close-ups which go with the music video well because it allows us to see her facial expressions, and long shots which allow the audience to see what she is wearing (to spot any changes of outfits) and so we can see the surrounding location which in turn make the video look extremely professional, as do the use of different locations combined with the use of slow and fast motion.
