Planning: Do's and Don'ts of design work.

Here is a list of things we should do and things we shouldn't do.

DO'S

  • Make sure that we stick to two clear fonts. They should complement each other and they should be appropriate.
  • We should stick to three colours MAXIMUM. Make sure that the colours go well together and that they fit the genre.
  • USE CLEAR PHOTOS THAT ARE IN FOCUS!! Also make sure that they are the appropriate size.
  • Follow the rule of thirds for composition.
  • Remember to include a barcode, date, copyright information, title of the album, artist name, record company logo, website and artist website.
DON'TS
  • Don't use unnecessary effects.
  • Don't stretch images to fit the panel - you could lose marks.
  • DO NOT place text across the face of the artist.
  • Don't use fonts just because you like them.
